Privacy Policy

Wordbox ยท last updated 30 July 2026

Wordbox has no accounts, no passwords and no sign-in. The first time you open the app it generates a random player id on your device and keeps it in your iCloud keychain, so your games survive reinstalling the app and appear on your other Apple devices. That id is not derived from anything about you, and it is the only thing tying your games together.

What is stored on the server

Other players in a game you join can see your username, your score, and the words you have found once a round is over. That is the point of the game.

What is not collected

Your name, email address, phone number, contacts, location, photos, and any advertising or tracking identifier. There are no adverts, no analytics, and no third-party trackers or SDKs. Nothing is sold, rented, or shared with anyone, and nothing is used to build a profile of you or to target advertising.

Where it lives

Game data is held in a Supabase (PostgreSQL) database used solely to run these games. Notifications are delivered through Apple Push Notification service. No other third party receives your data.

Keeping it

Game data is kept while you are playing. Rooms that have gone untouched for a long time are cleared out periodically.

Deleting it

Email wordbox@dancykier.com with your username and everything associated with your player id will be deleted. Deleting the app also stops any further data being sent.

Children

Wordbox is suitable for all ages and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, children included โ€” there is no personal information to collect.

Changes

If this policy changes, the date at the top of this page changes with it.
